Our Creative Escapes commenced end of September 2018 with our Weaving Weekend Workshops. From there we've experienced Smart Phone Photography classes, a yoga retreat as well as Spanish & Italian Cooking Classes. This year we introduced Journal Making Art Classes as well as Shibori Indigo Dyeing.
We've hosted a hen's weekend and quite a few private group weekends from 2 friends up to 12 so far!
And we've even hosted a personal one on one Holiday Planning & Trip Design session!
We are organising our 2020 calendar now
so take a look below and see what you'd like to experience with us.
Please contact us with requests!
Random Weave Basketry
Our latest Random Weave Class as part of Escape ARTfest was another success
Brooke was amazing with her knowledge, skills and ability to teach everyone regardless of level of experience. We enjoy seeing the creations that evolve and the laughs along the way make it a fun session!
Hidden Coil Weaving
Our 2nd Escape ARTfest class was popular and enjoyable to all that attended.
Once again everyone went home with a new creation and sense of achievement whilst enjoying the company of likeminded people and of course the morning tea too!
succulent wreath workshop
A living succulent wreath to last a lifetime
Brooke shared her skills once again teaching our escapees how to make a living succulent wreath. There was a mix of return guests as well as first timers who all enjoyed their day.
The scones were served for morning tea as they arrived to give sustenance for the workshop ahead.
Firstly the wreath was created out of vines, then the "sausage" to stick the succulents in and keep them "alive"!
The creative side came out as they starting placing their succulents.
After all their efforts, they were rewarded with lunch to finish off a successful day.
It was wonderful to see everyone walk away with their beautiful wreaths ready to hang in their home.
We love making people escape the everyday and learn a new skill along the way.
Smart Phone Photography Class
Our 2nd time round and just as much fun and successful
Focus on Phoneography with the lovely Karin Neate aka thedrunksnail.com, Girl Friday, L'escargot Ivre.
May I say a girl of many talents that, with ease, made all feel comfortable with the use of their smart phones.
The day started with intense concentration, listening, reading and practicing. By the end of the day tricks of the trade had been well explained, shown and demonstrated with patience and expertise.
Photos of different subjects, angles and lighting were being produced professionally & with ease.
Amazing what you can do when you know how!
Then the laughing started as photos of facial enhancement were being created and shared. Incredible what the knowledge of a new app will do.
Below are some photos of both classes for you to enjoy.
Journal Making Art Class
A fun afternoon was had by all!
Jan led the way with ideas and tips on how to use all the props to create their very own work of art.
3 different styles of journal were taught and created.
So armed with a glass of bubbles and individual grazing plate they got started.Time ran out but the girls went home with the notes & their props to finish off their work at leisure.
food & wine weekend
This event brought together 12 like-minded women who wanted to taste and sample local wines and food.
The day was spend at Cupitt's Winery in Ulladulla starting with transport from their accommodation to the winery for morning tea, followed by the Taste & Tour Experience. After some wine, beer and cheese tasting it was out on the lawn for alfresco lunch. Then it was time to return to the beach houses for a rest, walk or swim before doing it all again for dinner.
This is a perfect escape experience for anyone who has an interest in food and/or wine - girls getaway, couples, group of friends, in fact anyone!
Get together your group of 4 or more to book a date to suit you.
String Bag & Cord Making
Brooke from Mr and Mrs Munro was back to share her experience and skills with our guests. Once morning tea was done, the class commenced with cord making to prepare for the String Bag creations that were a great success! Lunch was perfect to allow everyone to keep going with their new creations. Another successful day with everyone raving about Brooke and the day in general
Spanish Cooking class
Paella, Crema Catalana and Sangria!
Edoardo our professional chef did himself proud again. This time with a Spanish theme. Seafood Paella and traditional Paella with chicken, followed with a dessert of Crema Catalana. And Sangria just added to theme.
Best part of the class is enjoying the creations for lunch after.
Private Group Classes
Take a look at our photo gallery below to get a glimpse of our Private Group Experiences this year.
Cooking classes have been the most popular with our professional chef, Edoardo from The Guild Milton. Edoardo can offer French, Italian and Spanish themes to create, then enjoy for lunch after.
We've had groups of friends from 4 to 8 people plus a Mum and her 3 daughters, all wanting to escape the everyday and spend a bit of quality time together. We're looking forward to welcoming some couples to take part in 2020.
You arrive Friday to a selection of afternoon tea/pre-dinner nibbles followed by dinner in, or you might choose to go out to one of the many great restaurants in the local area.
Saturday morning, after making the most of the breakfast hamper supplied, it's time for morning tea prior to your activity.
After lunch, it's time to explore the local area at leisure.
A light dinner finishes off a big day!
Sunday morning is a perfect opportunity for a beach walk and breakfast before heading home.
The feedback so far....perfect accommodation...great food....easy and thorough cooking class...fabulous weekend away!
